My team and I were tasked with creating an aid for children suffering from Growth Hormone Deficiency to understand their treatment and to keep them occupied whilst it takes place. We suggested using a hero character who gets powered up through use of medication. This only partially answered the brief of giving the child an idea into why they need medication, making sure it stayed with them with their treatment journey was still required. After brainstorming the remaining requirement I came up with the idea of a game based on the infinite runner genre (popular at the time) located inside the same human veins that the medication would travel down featuring the hero character. Oomph was born.
